It’s no secret that we are big fans of Apple products at Kensa. So naturally, when we got the opportunity to get our hands on the new Apple Vision Pro ahead of its UK release, we had no choice but to splurge and see what all the fuss was about.

What is the Vision Pro?

If you aren’t as nerdy as us, you might be wondering what a Vision Pro is. It’s the brand-new mixed reality headset from Apple. Think virtual reality meets the real world.

Apple plans to revolutionise how we work in the biggest leap since the iPad was released in 2010. They have dubbed it a ‘spatial computer’, and it’s deemed “the most advanced personal electronic device ever.”

Check out what we’ve been up to so far:

The all-important tech

The Vision Pro comes with an incredibly high-resolution display and 12 cameras: six world-tracking, four eye-tracking, a TrueDepth camera and a stereoscopic 3D camera for spatial videos.

It works by displaying different images to each eye, giving you a sense of depth. It’s like watching a 3D film at the cinema, but you’re inside the film – and instead of wearing silly-looking coloured glasses you have an aluminium and glass computer strapped to your face.

Why did Kensa buy a Vision Pro?

The short answer is – it’s fun!

The longer answer is that, amongst other things, we are really good at 3D motion design and animation, allowing us to create natively stereoscopic content (3D). Combined with our in-house developer team, it means we can come up with some pretty cool experiences our clients can use as wow factor attractions at in-person events like tradeshows.

Keeping up with new developments (read: playing around with cool new tech) is actually work for us.

Market-leading brands are keeping their ear to the ground because they expect this technology will soon be in every home. Tom’s Shoes, Marriott Hotels and IKEA are already harnessing the power of VR to enhance the customer experience and we believe agencies must become experts at creating effective and engaging VR content now.
