Founding father of Kensa and all round design obsessive, Scott has an opinion on pretty much everything.

Congratulations to Jess who will be taking on a brand new role as Creative Director after 5 years of managing a growing team of creatives.

Jess graduated with a BA in Fine Art in 2014, joining Bath based startup and Dragon’s Den candidate The Makery as in-house designer to help develop a range of craft kits. It was during this product launch that Jess discovered her passion for design, and joined the team at Kensa Creative upon moving home to Shropshire in 2016.

As Graphic Designer, Jess quickly demonstrated not only artistic flair but impressive organisational and leadership skills, overseeing the implementation of an Apprenticeship scheme to recruit and mentor a now long standing member of staff.

Within a year, Jess was promoted to Lead Designer, stepping up to manage a team of four designers over a four year period.

Creative management

Thanks to Kensa’s design led approach to marketing, Jess has been able to retain a hands-on role in creative output of the team, responsible for setting the bar high on quality whilst keeping a close eye on efficiency.

Successes include leading a rebrand and international marketing campaign for a global AI software vendor, strategic repositioning for a Wolverhampton-based Health Cash Plan provider and launching a new brand of eco-friendly toilet roll featured on ITV – to name a few.

Now a central figure in the business with input on key decisions including the design and planning of Kensa’s very own purpose-built office, Jess will be filling the new position of Creative Director with broader management responsibilities across design, video and web development departments.

In her own words

“Kensa have always rewarded ability over experience, and I’m grateful for both the opportunity to prove myself and the support to grow into my new role.
Highlights have been watching our shiny new office materialise from the ground up, branding the building for the grand opening (complete with popcorn and blue champagne!) and relaunching a local escape room, which of course included a competitive team building activity.
As Creative Director, my focus remains on developing our awesome team, nurturing Kensa’s creative culture and delivering the best results for our clients”

Next year, Kensa Creative celebrates 10 years of delivering high impact creative marketing projects for a diverse client base, ranging from start-ups to multinational companies including office supplies giant Lyreco to global specialist in energy management Schneider Electric.
