Building an child friendly community for parents, teachers and children to interact
This highly ambitious project involved building an online community with a very child-centric design which would integrate with their day to day learning activities.
While the basic design was originally an evolution of the regular Windsor Kindergarten site we realised that it really needed a much more fun and friendly style to appeal to the children and really make them want to interact with it.

Despite being a talented and respected member of the team, our junior designer despite is undeniably very much in touch with his inner child – if theres mischief in the office you can always look towards him for playing some part in it! Thankfully this also enabled him to take the creative lead in the early stages of this project and put forward some really fun and exciting designs which Windsor absolutely loved.
From a technical perspective this was an extremely challenging project, with a secure community with multiple level of privacy and access levels being implemented.
The main objective was to combine all of a childs information – from contact details and homework through to teachers reports and special needs – into a single facebook-style profile which their parents could monitor from home.

This profile system also feeds an online community where children can share pictures and videos of their work, download homework files, send messages to other users and even download the weekly food menu.
We finished off this project with a comprehensive userguide to help managing all of the users and a custom system for migrating children between classes each year, then produced a promotional leaflet listing all the features to really sell it into the parents.
